This online platform is designed to support early childhood educators in their efforts to provide high-quality instruction and learning for their young students. The framework includes a sequence and scope of content based on the Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines. Utilizing the Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines as foundation, this framework is aligned with Kindergarten Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). It provides early childhood educators with content and sequencing clarification and unpacks the Prekindergarten End-of-Year Outcomes. As a result, the Pre-K Outcomes Framework facilitates developmentally appropriate planning and instruction to help prepare all children for success in kindergarten and beyond.
This framework was intentionally designed to help teachers and administrators create planned, purposeful and playful prekindergarten learning experiences and assessments. Within the framework are Prekindergarten Annual Overviews for each of the following core content areas: English Language Arts (Emergent Literacy-Reading, Emergent Literacy-Writing, and Language and Communication), Math, Science, and Social Studies.
